Welcome!

 

My name is Jackeline Tellez, I am the head band director at KWJH.  I will be starting my 4th year here at Kenneth White and my 8th year of teaching overall.  Over the past three years we have seen this program grow to over 200 members, making us the largest band group in the entire district.  We serve some of the brightest and most outstanding students and I am extremely grateful that I get to teach them.  During my time as head director I have seen our program not only grow in size, but in quality as well.  The Kenneth White Jr High Bands have received superior ratings and our students have excelled in individual competitions.  My goal as an educator isn't only to teach music, but to teach our students the value of team work, competitiveness, dedication, hard work, perseverance, patience and above all kindness.  I know that we will be starting a rather challenging year, filled with questions and uncertainties, but I want to assure you that my level of commitment to our students remains.  I know that in the midst of all this we will learn to overcome and triumph over every doubt, insecurity, and fear.  Our kids are intelligent, driven, and more than capable.  I look forward to teaching every single one of them, and I am more than positive we will rise above and have a fantastic school year!  Go Hawks!
